About the Role

Metro’s Prevention Specialist identifies targeted areas and schedules and implements HCV, Syphilis and HIV testing in the community setting. Targeted testing will be for areas where drug use and other high-risk behaviors are prevalent. Prevention Specialist will successfully link HCV RNA positives and HIV positives to medical appointments. Specialists will also assist clients with navigating healthcare system; offer other STI services and connect clients with services and provide follow-up; and offer and connect high-risk negatives to PrEP and PEP. Position requires irregular hours and some weekends. Outreach activities will be at various locations in East Baton Rouge and around East Baton Rouge Parish. Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor or program director that aids in the smooth operation and implementation of the program.

Requirements

High School Diploma and certification in medical assistant or phlebotomy with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service or health-related field.
